One of the greatest albums of all time is now touring Australia and the UK in a special production featuring one of Australia’s best female singers and a six-piece band.

Multi-award winner Nicki Gillis brings to life Carole King’s Tapestry album LIVE in a sophisticated, “true to the original sound” format.

“I have always loved the songs of Carole King and it has been a desire of mine to one day perform her songs live with a full band,” said Nicki as she was putting together the final arrangements for her UK theatre tour of Tapestry The Concert, “All the songs on the album mean so much to me personally and all the pop hits she wrote earlier are so much fun and written so well, Carole really is a marvel”.

King also wrote numerous hits for other artists, hits such as: The Loco-Motion (Little Eva/Kylie Minogue), I’m Into Something Good (Herman’s Hermits/Marianne Faithful), Pleasant Valley Sunday (The Monkees) and You’ve Got A Friend (James Taylor). As a lead up to the performance of Tapestry The Concert, these songs plus others are presented in a 45 minute set, Songs Carole King Gave Away, performed live by The Fabulous Nickettes band.

Tapestry is the second album recorded by American singer-songwriter Carole King. It was released in 1971 and is one of the best-selling albums of all time, with over 25 million copies sold worldwide.

Tapestry received four Grammy Awards in 1972, including Album of the Year.

The first double sided single from the album, It's Too Late b/w I Feel the Earth Move, spent five weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In 2003, Tapestry was ranked number 36 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

King wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on the album, several of which had already been hits for other artists such as Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and The Shirelles' "Will You Love Me Tomorrow".
